Bank Of America Mortgage Payment Review from Winston Salem, North Carolina

I have paid my mortgage payment on time. Bank of America is still reporting that my last payment was paid Sept of last year and refuse to update all credit reports. By bank of America not updating my report my credit score is ruined. Plus, I found out they did some paper work about my mortgage saying it was something else and I had no knowledge of just how sneaky and under handed Bank of America really is. Please stay away from Bank of America. They will ruin your credit and your life

Denied access to a Safe Deposit Box with a POA | Bank Of America review from Stone Mountain, Georgia

I have a POA for a 91 year old relative in a nursing home. i was denied access because the POA did not specifically state that I could. The relative is suffering from Alzheimers and not mentally capable of signing another one. the option I was given was to let the box become delinquent which would be in Jan 2015 and remain delinquent for 365 days after which they would drill the box open and remove the content. The delinquent fee could then be paid and they would give over the content. What kind of logic is that? Why should I trust that all the content will be their after they have opened it. And it wasn't clear as to what would be required to claim the contents or what happen if she dies before that time.

If it wasn't in the POA, there's not much that can be done. I would look into getting a guardianship and that should give you access to the box.

The bank can only go based on what the POA says because IF you were lying (it does happen where family members lie about this stuff) they would be on the hook. Good luck

Bank Of America Account Fraud Review from Lewiston, Maine

Bank of America is the absolute worst bank I have ever encountered. I have had THREE counts of fraud on my account which were never refunded that bank has allowed me to lose hundreds of dollars and everytime I sit down with someone in the bank to discuss my issues they're more concerned with trying to make me apply for their credit card then trying to help me. They just want money, awful customer service!!

I am a class action attorney, please call me to discuss this issue. I represent people who are unabe to get loan modifications due to lenders losing documents, asking fro updated documents endlessly, and not completing loan reviews, increasing your default balance and penalties.

Denials are often incorrect based on bank errors.

Changes | Bank Of America review from Anacortes, Washington

I have been with BoA for over10 years. first they closed my local branch. I heard it through hearsay that it was going to happen. I never got an official notification from them saying it was going to happen. The nearest branch is over 20 miles away, but I stayed while also opening an account with a different local bank. Now recently I received notice that my line of credit with them is being terminated. Instead they want me to get a credit card. Go figure. I used my line of credit to pay vendors when cash flow was not sufficient. Thy don't all take credit cards. So, therefor Bank of America, as soon as I can transfer the remaining ACH's that I still have with you, I am going to close my account. And you can take that to the bank.

Closed my Account even though it was paid off | Bank Of America review from Holt, Michigan

Got my first credit card in 1997 and maintained a perfect payment history. My original handler was MBNA, which got bought out by Bank of America somewhere around 2002-3-ish. BoA reduced my credit line from $24,000 to $12,500 in 2008 (coincidentally right before I got laid off from a job), but it prompted me to look around for a better company. I found the Charles Schwab 2% cash-back Visa and left my BoA card ‘open’ because it had over ten years of credit history on it. I did my business with Schwab until they went under in 2010 and guess who bought out that card? BoA, who promptly reduced my cash-back rewards from 2% to 1%, and have at various other points been generally snotty and disappointing but nothing tops THIS week’s debacle: 10 months ago my wife lost her job. Needless to say, money has been tight, but I've still paid off the entire balance in full every other month or so, and the highest my balance has ever been is $498 (out of a line of over $9000). My card was declined last month when I took my dog into the emergency-vet, which in addition to being frustrating, frightening, and embarrassing made me wonder why... Wanting to make sure I cleaned up *my* side of the fence first, I paid off the entirety of my balance a couple days ago plus made an additional payment yesterday to make sure I covered the “interest” on the account and then chatted w/a CSR online who informed me that BoA had CLOSED MY ACCOUNTS. Yes, BOTH of them… Even though one card had no outstanding debt history at all in the last 7 years, and the other one never ran more than $500 in debt out of a $9000 limit for anything more than 60-90 days. Thinking that something could still be worked out I called a CSR tonight who informed me that a)BoA will NOT reopen them and b)because of my wife’s income being absent from our home that I do not qualify for a new card with them either. I escalated the call to talk to the CSR’s supervisor “James” who informed me again that they accounts would remain closed and although he offered “suggestions” like “apply for a new card” which I informed him repeatedly that I had already been turned down for. 17 years of perfect payments, under $500 in outstanding balances and those balances stood for no more than 60-90 days, one card with no debt whatsoever, all debt paid off in its entirety, and the kicker is this… I have enough reward points to have covered minimum payments for the outstanding days anyway but in terms of customer service a)BoA states they ‘called’ me ‘several’ times but never left a voicemail message b)they never sent an email informing me of closing my accounts c)they sent a letter notifying me of possible ‘delinquency’ on May 7th and I paid off the balance on May 25th plus the extra $3.98 in interest on May 27th and I can nether re-open my old accounts nor get a new card in spite of having no debt. I am not rich and I know that, and I knew I would have a bad debt profile when I started looking at graduate schools. But before you go “Ah-HA!” listen to this: Part of why I GOT a credit card BEFORE I WENT to *college* was knowing that someday my student loan debt would haunt me and I needed to have a credit line available. I knew all about income-based repayments, and right now I pay $122.27/month which isn’t great, but is totally manageable and oh by the way I have never missed a payment since I graduated with my *doctorate* in 2012. My *payment* history on cards, cars, and my home is perfect, but my *debt* is outstanding, and I knew that. So I controlled what I could by making payments and trying to be “smart” with credit. Things I could NOT control are things like my wife losing her job. But even then, if I had gotten so much as a *voicemail* from BoA or ANY lender I would have responded immediately. As of tonight, the best ‘James’ the customer service supervisor could tell me is that “We reserve the right to terminate accounts based on our relationship with a borrower and their history.” 17 years of perfect payments is a lot of history. BoA not even feeling responsible for leaving a voicemail after that long and never even inquiring as to why my payment patterns changed is a terrible way to end that kind of a relationship, and not being at all sympathetic, understanding, or even grateful for repayments is a slap in the face to a responsible borrower who now faces even longer odds ahead of himself. For a company that has laid off so many people, it seems like BoA would be more understanding of the difficulties one faces with lay-offs, but evidently completely turning your back on the deals you have made with consumers is just part of what it means to be in a relationship with Bank of America. I hope this email encourages at least one more person to stay away from BoA or take their business elsewhere. This company is awful and has no respect for even long-time customers.

Unlawful foreclosure | Bank Of America review from Sacramento, California

I have 2 clients and one other that did not file. Two clients told pay x amt of money and b of a will not foreclose. Each pays the large sum and Bank of America forecloses anyways even when they realized they screwed up they continued to not make things right. First client had a heart attack after finding out b of a sold his house after he paid 60k to ban of America. Took several years to settle. Second case goes to trial next month. They are fighting with a woman who they tried to evict after she paid 18k then held onto it for fourteen days and sent money back with no notes same day they sold her house. They fight the same way on cases that are credible as they do with people who file lawsuits with little or no damages. They don't realize the consequences of their actions. Whrn they sold her house I kept her in it while we fought but she couldn't get insurance even rental insurance so could not bring her dying mother home and take care of her. She also was denied applying for a promotion because of the unlawful foreclosure. Dennise henderson 916-456-2027. Dennise@henderson-law.org

I open the BOFA account to use it for small bills and shopping. I had no real issues except for the dam card gets over draft fees and then negative balance fees. I am talking about a dollar or even 5 dollars can turn into 75.00! I go back and fourth with the lady on the phone about how can I fix this it has happen so many times they can not offer a refund any more. The only offer I got after hearing hold please let me transfer you to the supervisor, I get after you pay I can help show you how to set up your account so you do not end up with fees... I AM LIKE REALLY!NOW WHAT AFTER HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS IN FEES! No thank you I want to scream and say why did I even bother wasting my time on the phone with anybody. What happen to I do not want to lose your business and whatever we can do to help. I said let me bring my account balance back to normal pay the 10 dollars it is negative and waive the fees. Sorry it is your right to close the account but you need to pay first. WOW! That is terrible bye bye BOFA!
