Never answer the phone

The bank of America branches are horrible when it comes to answering the phone lines. Customers need to speak directly to someone at a home branch sometimes and there are several branches that hear the phone ring but personally choose to ignore it. I'm really sick of it. I invest my money in this company and have been for over 8 years now but still remain frustrated with a lack of direct customer service. I think BOA should implement a plan to cause their workers to make sure they answer the phone. Sad that it has to come to that but I honestly believe that is the only way to get a response.

Bank of America is a joke.. It should be name Bank of Rudeness...

I went to get money out of my account around 12 noon on August 20, 2017. Upon getting an inquiry I realized my account balance was not correct.

I went to the car and called Bank of America and was told my card was used in Stanton and Anaheim Ca. on August 19 & the early morning of August 20, 2017.

Now, the issue is I've always had my debit card, I have not given my PIN number to anyone and I have not been in Stanton or Anaheim in a few months.

However, BoA is telling me I had to give someone my card and PIN number. So, BoA will not reimburse me my unemployment funds. I filed a police report with my local sheriff department and they in turn will file the issue with the cities where the fruad occurred.

The had 3 or 4 inquiries before my account was debited each time. You would think to BoA that would be suspect to that activity and call me on the first day or at the least send me an email like every other bank or credit union. They didn't do anything to even try to prevent the fruad the next day.

Not to mention the woman @ BoA in both the call center that took the report and in my local branch in Diamond Bar Ca.

was extremely rude. While I was in Bank of America on August 22, 2017 there were other people in the bank complaining about fraud on their account also. Something is just not right.

I feel as though I was Financially RAPED by someone that stole my funds and now I feel as though I'm being RAPED by Bank of America.

HOW SAFE IS OUR MONEY??

Bank Of America - Mortgage Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I've been in my home over 15 years I tried to get a loan modification through Bank of America on my mortgage I wasn't successful so I stayed in my home after saying I had days to leave so after that I tried with the Hamp program through Obama administration making homes affordable and the reason why I tried to get a modification through the Hamp program that's because I couldn't afford the payments anymore so instead of they're making my house more affordable the payments or higher so therefore I never could get a modification making a along story short after that Bank of America switch me to a collection agency call Rush loans that I really wasn't aware of I got it in the mail they turn my mortgage over to a collection company and I tried several places to get a mortgage modification and it did not work so the collection agency offered a higher mortgage then usual I couldn't do that because I couldn't afford it so he offered me a 40 year loan on a house that's only worth about a100,000 I owed $275,000 house so in the end i felt i was offered a 2000 cash for keys and that was my last offer or thats it ,me and my family of five had to leave and now the house us just setting there I think that that was pretty much unfair treatment disregard it the Hamp program making homes affordable just to put somebody out and have the house is now just sitting there I know somebody's going to buy it eventually but I could not get a good program to help me pay for the house after being there for 15 years is there any programs out there that can help me please get my house back or will compensate me for just getting put out of my home I just really think it was unfair and especially the bad reputation that Bank of America has already about the employees getting paid $500 just to put someone in foreclosure how can I get a part of that program to justify why they wouldn't accept my income that's what I want Make It Home Affordable through the so-called Obama program

Resolved: BOA Bank Of America Better Balance Rewards Credit card Scam

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Updated by user Dec 15, 2016

I wrote a consumer bureau and the president of the bank. Both investigated.

The presidents office agreed to resolve the issue with me, thank you.

The consumer bureau was nice at first. I told them about the $1.99 writeoffs and they pretty much LIED about them and...

Original review Nov 15, 2016
Card reward bonus is a SCAM!. Supposed if you charge something to the card and make more than minimum payment you get a bonus.

BUT employees are doing everything they can to not pay. NOT FAIR!. At first they said they denied my payments because I paid too early...and their system needed me to wait. So I set up autopay.

Then they denied my payment because I had my bonus applied and my bill was paid off and the autopay did not pay any more and they said I never met minimum payment. I read other negative reviews where #BankofAmerica employees are denying rewards by nefarious means. They allegedly are going into client accounts and writing off low balance cards quarterly so "no payment is due" and thus "no bonus is earned". (Write off balances of $1.99.

SHAME on BOA. They also will not pay bonus unless you complain..and then they try to skate. I've had to fight with them for bonus and they say it is system determined. NOT TRUE.

I don't trust BOA and I have been a customer since 2004. If you do sign up..Charge at least $26 to card monthly. Set up an automatic ONE DOLLAR flat payment to card (in addition to any ebill generated). That gets around write off scheme or credit or zero balance.

And don't have your bonus applied ot the card, but instead send to BOA checking. MY quarterly bonus was applied EARLY so it wiped out my $24.95 balance so one quarter's bonus wiped out the next quarter's bonus. BOA would not fix it..and said the bonus was not programmed as a payment even though they advertise I can use it to pay down my bill. SLEEZY company.

RUN! I am a Certified Fraud Examiner.

Still sitting on hold 55 minutes later to get ATM issue (ate the check) resolved after Kings Lake Blvd, Naples employee Josh said they cannot assist (where the ATM ate the check) and we needed to call 800 # - 800 # said the BRANCH is responsible. This is the second time this has happened only to be told the branch is responsible but apparently the "branch manager" Josh doesn't know what his branch is supposed to do not to mention he was rude and had no interest in helping a customer of 25 years. Still on hold

Bank of America --- POD account

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Bank of America --- POD account

Let me begin by saying my father has been a customer of Bank of America for over 40 at a branch in Clarksville, Virginia. At his passing two years ago, my sister and I went to the branch in Clarksville and informed the Branch Manager Mrs. good that my father had passed. We filled out all of the necessary paperwork and they faxed the Death Certificate to the Estate Division of BOA. Every one of the branch employees were sad about my Dad’s passing, they all knew him by name. Last month we were informed the account would be closed for lack of activity and funds sent to the State of Virginia. The account was active with funds going in and out to pay bills.

This past Saturday after an hour at the local branch in Springfield, VA I was told I could not access the funds until the POD account was re-opened. I called the Estate Office spoke to Manager Rebe cca who did not offer any customer service, except that I would have to send in a Closure Request to have the funds available. She could not explain why my original paper work was not on file. But I was told Saturday and before I spoke to Manger RM that they had no paper work on my dad’s account. The branch manager sent the paper work Saturday because it could not be found...all of a sudden the Estate office found the file with Death Cert. from 2014.

My resolve: Do not open an account and put your loved ones on the account with the notation of POD because it could be a future problem after you are gone.

I just assign a POD on one of my savings accounts to my kids at the Bank of America in Casa Grande, AZ...I ask for a copy of the paper work that I had sign and the person said I don't get a copy! WHY NOT?

It my transaction on my account and don't get a copy? Doesn't not pass the smell test...

Froze my accounts without warning.

One day suddenly my debit card did not work. I tried using it to buy something from a vending machine at work, and it got declined. I thought perhaps the machine had an issue. I then tried to buy gas and pay at the pump using the card. Again, rejected. My final test was a BoA ATM. Rejected again. I called BoA customer service and the guy told me that the account had been frozen and told me he'd transfer me to the department that handles that. He transfers me and guess what? They're closed. The next day, I physically went to my local branch and told them the situation. They looked into the computer and guess what? My account had been flagged and frozen due to some audit; they found that they somehow didn't have my citizenship status on file so they without warning, flagged my account and denied me and entities that I owed money access to my funds. Here's the thing, I opened that account over twenty years ago when they were known as Barnett Bank. How could they not after all these years have my status? And why wouldn't they contact me before just freezing me out of my own money? I was locked out of my own finances for three freaking days.

Now you know why using a debit card for everything is rather dumb. I assume you bought your gas, snacks and whatever else with cash from your wallet like a normal person would do in a situation like this. Keeping a couple of hundred dollars in your wallet is a wise move, sparky.

Bank Of America - Customer Care Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I was driving through the ATM on a Tuesday evening, and ended up leaving my card. What happens was I pulled up to ATM, of which there were two, and proceeded to make a deposit. As I was making my deposit a car pulled up to the ATM behind me. Subsequently, they began honking, yelling and flashing lights. I'm aware that the number of random shootings and beatings in St. Louis is rather prevelant. That being said, I floored it and got the heck out of there. I immediately called customer service as I left my card. After going through all the red tape, the rep told me I would be charged $5 for a replacement card. I said you have got to be kidding. She had no inflection in her voice and said would you like to proceed or not? Of course, I said, "Well, your not giving me a choice. I need a debit card, but my only option is to pay, despite the traumatic event on your bank's premises." She didn't care, she wanted that $5. I said " I'm assuming the entire incident has been taped by bank security cameras."She said they cannot release that information. I replied, " Well with a diploma, I think you have to.". Again, she reverted back to "Do you want a replacement or not?" Absolutely terrible behavior on her part. I realize $5 is not a great deal of money, but there are principles of ethics and morals and Bank of America will always put money before morals. Absolutely deplorable.

Bank Of America Bank Teller Review

The wait time for a teller is absolutelty ridiculous at this branch in newark nj. Only 2 tellers working and when I arrived at the branch one teller was out to lunch. Leaving only 1 teller to service over 15 people waiting on line. Wait time standing in line over an hour. Rediculous

Home loan area is sorely lacking in customer service. Especially for a US Veteran

Second time going through home loan process with BOA and I'm upset with myself for doing it the second time. Loan processor in my town just made redundant excuses for his lack of knowledge about my home loan process. Continued to say it was underwriters. I gave them everything they asked for and they still kept coming back asking to explain things on my personal checking account. Even asking what my Medicom bill was for!-home internet and tv! Would check weekly for updates. Finally my real estate agent was checking bc I was not getting a reply from my loan officer. I made an official complaint to the direct home loan dept via phone. They assured me I would have a call within 24-48 hours. It's now 1 wk later and yet to,hear from anyone. I'm 4 days alway from closing and have no idea if my home loan package is complete and accurate. It's been in process for 6 mths( it was started and supposedly completed 6 mths ago but had to freeze it bc house I was selling in another city fell through before I could continue my new VA home loan) nothing at all had changed once I did finally sell that house and able to return my VA eligibility funds, for new loan. I'm hoping I can refinance with another lender soon. I have all my accounts with BOA and I am going to pull them ASAP!

Stop with the "I'm a veteran! Pity me!" B.S.

I'm a veteran as well. People like you are embarrassing. Your headline SCREAMS "I'm a veteran. I will tell you I'm a veteran.

I expect special rules because I'm a veteran. Did I mention I am a veteran?

I used my credit card to book garage parking so to go on a cruise out of Port Canaveral. I tried booking it 5 different times and each time my card was being charge, but I was not getting a confirmation of payment. It was directly after a hurricane went through the area. Finally 4 days before the cruise on October 2, I tried again and was successful. I work Bank of American and resolved four of them. I get going back to Bank of America and got no where in resolving the 5th time of tried. Bank of America sent me a letter and told me the time had expired and I had to pay the $64. Four days latter I called the Port Canaveral Authority financial department and got credit for the 5th one, as it showed a 6th attempted where I succeeded and got my confirmation. Bank of America left me high and dry. They do not follow through and support or listen to their clients. I am ashamed to have the card. I would expect a full apology for their actions, but really do not expect to get.

Misinformation and irresponsibility

I advertised a car for sell on autotraders .com and am in NJ . Abuyer from CA contacted me and we agreed on the price of $5000 . he send a check for 10.300 and said since he has had a stroke and is in the hospital his accountant had made a mistake and included teh fee for teh shipper and collector in the check that was send to me . when I was depositing the check in bank of america account teh teller informed me that there is no hold on teh check and it will clear the next day . then the next day the buyer asked me to transfer sun of 3950 to shippers account to collect and ship the car . I called the bank and they confirmed the check has been cleared and teh funds are available . I personally went to teh bank and asked specifiicaly if teh check is available ? if it is pending ? if all the funds are available and they said the check has been cleared by teh provider's bank and all teh fund is in the account , an hour later I went back made a $3950 cash deposit into the account the buyer had given me and took $9500 withdraw myself . yesterday when I went back to do another cash transfer for teh buyer the bank infoormed me that teh check had bounced and my account is overdrawn !! their answer to my question that why they had CONFIRMED that teh check has cleared was because since I had a good relationship with teh bank for 25 years they made the funds available to me . I did not go to the bank asking because I am a good client would you allow me to withdraw against a check that may or may have not been cleared . I asked a specific question that has teh check cleared by teh providers bank ? is it pending ? they confirmed it was clear and nothing to worry about . now they do not want to take any responsibility . I made a cash transfer with teh reliant on their assurance that the check had gone through and I have even told them I am doing a business transaction for the first time with someone I dont know and that is teh reason I had called and personally gone to the bank

Seterus is terrible

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Nasty old Bank of America, who is absolutely the worst lender and company I have tried to work with (now nearing FIVE YEARS) is still wrongfully foreclosing on innocent, helpless property owners like me and I have undisputed actual proof of all their racketeering that has removed millions of property owners from their property. They use other terrible affiliates like Shellpoint Mortgage, Seterus, Urban Settlement Services, Safeguard Properties and many more to continue on in spite of their blatant violations relative to the terms and conditions of the initial $45 Billion dollar settlement, the subsequent National Mortgage Settlement back in 2012 for failure to comply, and the supposed epic settlement with the USDOJ for nearly $17 Billion dollars. Take into account the nearly $200 Billion dollars and more that Bank of America has paid out in fines, penalties and court case settlements and you can easily confirm why Bank of America and all its affiliates and secret co-conspirators are rated so bad. Many states are now just starting to understand all this fraud and corruption and take a stand against these "to big to fail lenders"!! In my five year fight I have come to one sad revelation this week when trying to gain help from Fannie Mae directly (funny you did not hear much from the liberal press about Fannie and Freddie being taken over by our government and now operating as GSE!!! It is my belief that the government has been in on this huge ponzi scam which many say is the biggest *** game in America when the stock market was allowed to interact and work with lenders after the collapse of Glass Streagal Act. I am a 72 year old Vietnam Veteran and I hate the fact that all this corruption and fraud has been allowed to proceed and was really highly disappointed when I learned that our very own government who allowed all this to happen in the first place, now fully supports all this crooked behavior on the part of the lenders and all the crooked lawfirms defending them. Little wonder we have such a mess in our wonderful country and little to NO confidence in government from local to state and federal:( Seterus is now taking over for nasty old Bank of America and those employees have NO clue about what is going on, or at least it appears that way. I think the real motivation behind them and others, with the backing and blessing of the CFPB, OIG, and GSE!! This is a true travesty of justice that all these co-conspirators are heavily involved with. I feel so sorry for the millions of people who have been wrongfully thrown out of their homes with lenders, attorneys, and our government relying on forged, fabricated, phony documents that courts allowed them to use!!! Just read on the Internet about all this in thousands of articles and recent court case rulings like the "Morrow Case" in Montana where Montana took a really hard line stance on behalf of all their people against Bank of America, the "Yvanova Case" and other out in California, and now the recent 10th Circuit Court Ruling in Colorado (finally as Colorado is terrible at defending anyone with its inept, almost worthless consumer protection agency) in the racketeering charges that may now continue against Urban Settlement and Bank of America. I have five phony "in-house" modification agreements that were done back in late 2013 and early 2014 where Bank of America and Urban committed outright fraud with the phony fabricated documents and the State of Colorado, CFPB, OIG, USDOJ, and Fannie Mae are all fully aware of and just stand by and let this poor old Veteran lose everything!!! Little wonder we are going down the tubes with all this corruption.

Thanks a lot B of A for nothing. The wait time in line is getting out of hand. 2 tellers at the lunch hour-30 people in line. I waited 45 min. which took up all of my lunch hour. I guess the goal is to get rid of the customer. Get a clue, when people are complaining in line, the roving manager never comes over to find a solution. Wish i could just bury my money in the back yard. They keep telling us to use the ATM, I dont want to take large sums of money(RENT) out of the ATM. If my card is ever stolen there goes everything. Looks like i'm going to have to change banks even tho i've been a cutomer for over 20 years.
