MORTGAGE

Bank of America sold over 400,000l mortgages to GreenTree Financial Services. Greentree does not refinance loans. The odd thing is that on the back of a check I sent them was cashed by Bank of New york Mellon and if you wire them money it goes to Bank of America. I called GT and they know nothing about it. Someone needs to investigate this like the SEC or the government. It seems like there is a scam here or something very fishy! GT told me that if I want to refinance is to get a mortgage broker...what???? Are they insane!

No, they are not insane -- you do not want to go back to B of A or to GreenTree whatever you do. Contact another lender for sure.

Bank Of America

In 2004 my husband and I paid off our home with Bank of America, a loan obtained in 1990 They sent us a lien release, unfortunately the lien release was fradulent not on the home we paid off in full. Wells Fargo found this out in a title search now, we have been fighting with them for days, and now I have had to retain an attorney. They still have their lien filed against our home even though it is paid in full in 2004. The worry over the last week has made me sick. They do need to be held responsible for acts such as this. Every American needs to be made aware of this so they can check that their Lien realease is correct, and not

Bank of america

Proposed loan modification, to which i complied with all finacial and personal information requests, a customer service rep informed me she would work with me till the end, then after 4 months of nothing, i received a letter from a different rep telling me while i had been approved for the modification i had not made the payments ontime therefore i lost the modification and now my house is in foreclosure. I have begged them to reinstate the modification with no success at all. This from a bank that received bail out money to help their customers that are having financial difficulties.

Bank of America's stupidity

Whom It May Concern: Yet another reason to not get another account at BoA. On Friday of last week, I received my refund of my overpayment of my escrow account. I purchased this home in June of 2011 and told BoA that my taxes would be less than $100, as I am a disabled veteran in the State of [*], and they provide a large discount for property taxes. BoA stated that they wouldn't be able to do anything about it until my tax bill came due, and they had proof of it. No problem, I'm used to corporations feeling that they are superior to everyone, and that no one they deal with has a shred of decency or honesty...particularly bankers, as they tend to spend time around other bankers and see such traits. BoA further stated that they wouldn't send my tax payment to the county until they received the bill. In October, I received my tax statement (showing I owed $61.00 in taxes...that is not a misprint, it is sixty-one) and dutifully sent it to BoA (expecting them to receive it three days after I sent it...after all, BoA states the same thing about anything THEY send). Apparently, in my ignorance, I didn't send it certified mail. In December, my wife sent an email asking if BoA had received the tax statement, and paid the taxes. BoA claimed they did not receive the statements, but without ANY documentation of any kind, decided to send the full amount in my escrow ($3800+) to the county. They further stated that if I wanted the overage to be returned, I would have to deal with the county. So, I called the county. They stated that if they received an overage, they would cash the check, apply whatever is required to my tax bill, and then send a letter to BoA asking them what to do with the overage. BoA would then fill out a form, send it back to the County, and request the overage be sent to them. The County would then send the money back to BoA (presumably, BoA would not receive it, but just in case they did), BoA would then eventually issue me a check. That scenario was entirely unacceptable, so I called BoA, and spoke to a gentleman named [*], who took ownership of the problem. He corrected my tax bill, he corrected my escrow to reflect the correct amount of my taxes, and managed to get the refund check to me on Friday, Dec 23. So now, I took the check to the local BoA branch. After having to prove my identify through four pieces of ID, my wife and I got the check cashed. Only to be told, that because we don't have a checking account with BoA, we would be charged six dollars. Now six dollars isn't going to break me, but let me point something out to you. BoA has my mortgage of $195,000 (not by my choice, but BoA bought it from someone else, and presumably felt they could make a profit off of it). The interest rate on the mortgage is five percent. Over the life of the mortgage, BoA will PROFIT nearly $100,000. Further, we have a credit card with BoA. Its interest rate about 9%. We use that regularly, and rarely pay off the monthly balance. On top of all that, you kept my additional tax payment (of $3800) in escrow for six months...not paying interest to me on it. So here's what's bugging me. You can take the six dollar service fee, and stuff it so far up your ***, that it comes out your throat. You can further be assured, that in the interest of full disclosure, I will contact every person I know, pass by, or can contact through email, telephone, telegraph, carrier pigeon, smoke signal, or hieroglyphics, and let them know my opinion of Bank of America.

Bank Of America Checking Account

We are in Forclosure and never missed a payment.

We purchased a mortgage with Taylor Bean and Whitaker (TBW) over 3 years ago on a house in Alabama. After one year BOA purchased our mortgage and that is when all the trouble started. We started getting phone calls nearly every night with people saying that we were one month behind. We tried to tell them we didn't owe them any money but that did no good. Many weeks of harassing phone calls and I finally get ahold of someone that knew what was going on. BOA was disputing that we made our last payment to TBW. We got out our records and bank statements show that our last payment did clear the bank for TBW. We put together proof that we had never missed a monthly payment since we started the mortgage. BOA said to fax them the proof so we did. They then said it would take them time to research the problem. The calls never stopped. I finally got ugly on the phone to a supervisor and he said he would stop the calls. We are 3 years down the road and BOA says that we are 4 payments behind. They have been taking our payments and applying them to late charges that we don't owe. Law suit to follow.

My heart goes out to you!

A couple of years ago I did have a drop in income, but never late on the mortgage. I asked to be considered for the "Making Homes Affordable" (MHA) program, but was denied. They told they could not consider me for the Federal program because I didn't qualify. They stated for me to qualify I had to be at least 60 days past due. Five (5) separate times, by 5 separate people, one of them a manager, stated the same thing.

So under their instructions I purposely became delinquent by 60 days, then called them on the 65th day.

To my supprise, they couldn't help me because I was in FORECLOSURE. WHAT? After working with them for over 19 months, and starting over-and-over, I was approved for the plan, and pulled out of Foreclosure.

Although you are having to take the legal route, you may want to apply for the "Making homes affordable" program--it may slow the foreclosure process.

Best of luck!

Bank of America is trifling

I have had issues with my accounts and the customer service stank. I was moving and there were charges on my account. I was told to cancel my debit card and they would mail me another one and I could get a temporary one at the bank. I went to the bank and they were out. Now I was four days without a card. The one in the mail didn't come. I called back and it had not been mailed out. They finally mailed one out. Two weeks without a card and when I got it the password had not been mailed. Another call to customer service. A month later I found another charge and refused to cancel the card and go through all that again. In October, I was trying to add my daughter to my account, so we could easily transfer funds between FL and VA. I got the cards for her to sign and was told just to come with her ID. I made copies of her ID and brought them in and they told me to have her come in and sign. My daughter went in and was told we both had to be present. I was already in SC moving. I was on the phone with customer service. They told me that we could be at two branches at the same time. I was not told that ahead of time. I finally got my Dad to call customer service to call the bank and get them to cooperate by threatening to close out all of our family accounts. My daughter had to make another trip to the bank to get the card signed. I am over the ignorance and incompetence of these customer service reps. I am a busy person and my daughter works two jobs. We don't have free time between 9 and 5 to make multiple trips to the bank.

You got your dad to "threaten" to transfer his accounts. WOW.

I am sure Bank of America will care about your dad's tiny little bank account. You do realize B of A is a multi-billion dollar corporation right?

#420925

"customer service stank"?? I think you mean "stunk".

Also, have you ever heard of identity theft? That is why both you and your daughter had to be present at a branch. In your view, i could steal someones Drivers License and say to the Bank, please allow me transfer money from this account to this one, and you would expect the Bankk to do it (???). Wow, you are "trifling" to be whining over this experience.

You lose your bank card and now the Bank is ***? Get a clue.

BoA holds onto your money.

My mother in law died back in September. My wife and her sister are joint executors (either one can operate independently). As soon as the will was probated, my wife and sil started closing accounts and dividing the money. They found out that my wife's name was on the Bank of America checking account my mil used to pay her bills, even though she had never signed a signature card; the account listed both daughters as POD (proof of death) account holders.. They wrote checks for expenses, including the funeral. Wife then took money out of BoA to start an estate account. Once the will was probated and they had Letters of Testamentary, the two of them started closing the credit union accounts, with no problem. They also started work on closing her brokerage accounts and annuities. NOT ONCE did they have a problem. Last Thursday, wife went to BoA to close the account and the Assistant Manager called legal. Legal said they needed a letter from my sil (who lives in Washington state) showing her bank account, her liquidity, and a notarized letter stating she was who she was. When asked by my wife why they were going through this when she had the death certificate and POD, the AM said that was the way legal wanted it. When wife asked why she had been allowed to write checks on the account, the AM said, anyone can sign checks, we don't look at that. WTF???? So, BoA lets anyone sign checks on accounts; they don't follow Texas law on POD and Letters of Testamentary; they do everything in their power to keep money that does NOT belong to them. Oh yeah, they also said the manager wasn't in, then the assitant manager who handled the matter had two days off.

Get to know the Consumer Financial Protection Agency, the successor to the Comptroller of the Currency complaint process. I had trouble with BoA, they were intransigent and wouldn't fix their own screw-up.

Fine--went online and filed a complaint with the CotC, which forwarded it to the new CFPA. Got calls and letter from BoA anxious to fix things and even sent a $50 Amazon gift card to smooth things over. I used it immediately, then closed my account.

Screw 'em.

Raise *** with the regulators by complaining. Just the hassle involved for BoA will get you more than days of arguing with nobodies.

Bank of america password confusion

continually must enter and reenter the same password...sometimes it takes other times NO. Then I am blocked and must contact Customer Service. Happens over and over and over. Disgusted and tired of having to continually repeat all the numbers of the credit card...my social security number, etc. etc. It is annoying and it begs the question as to why their system does not recognize it and then it does and do not say perhaps the case sensitivity is not activated correctly....I check this by typing in another area before I go to Bank of America. and so it goes

try using another browser. If you are using IE, don't use IE8---it has problems.

Alternatively, try Firefox, it is much better than IE. There are so many possible reasons you are having troubles it is hard to determine why for anyone.

I doubt the problem lies with Bank of America tho. Even so, I dropped BOA a couple of years ago when I found out they were giving low interest mortgages to illegals.

HARRASSMENT !!!!!!!!

My loan from Bank of America was sold to Green Tree . I had successfully worked with Bank of America for the last four years splitting my pay one on due date and one on end of the 15 day grace period no problems . i had bankruptcy 2 years ago Bank of America never called my house or my work they just sent a statement that this is not to collect a debit . GREEN TREE has called my house my work as soon as the 1st payment isn't a full payment on the 1st they have threaten me and even said my discharged bankruptcy doesn't mean anything to them they are a debit collector and they will call until full payment is made every month . i have started checking around and this is illegal . When i told them they said they don't care and they will do what ever they have to to collect a debit . i have been unsuccessful in finding a lawyer to assist me . since the first of November 2011 this is becoming a night mare . I pay the whole bill every month and have never been a month behind . This month so far they have called my house for the remainder of the balance so much I got my home number changed . They called six times on Thursday even after i talked to them . Four times on Friday and Two times on Saturday morning so far . This is ridiculous . My number change will not be active til Monday but i cant change my work number.

Bank of America has been charging my mother a three dollars check image fee since 2011. She does not need this service and she has requested BofA to drop the service and refund the three dollar fee. I am her son and my name is on the account. I worked with BofA to remove the charge and reimburse my mother for the fee. The three dollar charge was initially removed and I thought it had been taken care. I recently reviewed my mother’s account and I found that the three dollar charge had reappeared. As it turns out this three dollar charge reappeared more than a year ago. I contacted the Cocoa Village Branch manager today. I was told that the maximum refund I can expect is six dollars.

I informed the Branch Manager that we would be closing all of our accounts and taking our business elsewhere. He seemed totally indifferent to my complaint and plan to relocate my accounts.

At the time of my discovery of the three dollar check image fee I also noted that BofA was charging several other unknown charges to my mother’s account. I asked BofA to explain one of these charges and they could not do so. They asked that we get back with them in a few days to determine what the charge was for. I called back a few days later and I was informed that the charge had been removed and my mother’s account had been credited for the charge. BofA could not explain what the charge was and no explanation was forthcoming as to what the charge was for.

I am confident that many people are charged for services that they do not request and do not need. Many people trust a bank to take care of business and just don’t question charges and fees the pop up. My mother is 85 years old and it is becoming more and more difficult for her to manage her finances.

I cannot help but think that BofA is taking advantage of a number of people and reaping the benefits for fees the people do not want or need.

Bank of America has Terrible Customer Service

I started with Bank of America as a child and kept their services until just after college. I was unhappy with their many fees, but as I always had a steady job, I didn't have too much trouble with this. Besides, I just thought many fees were the norm. However after learning of their many illegal actions and the many cases both private citizens and the US government held against them, and frustrated with the proposed $5 debit card fee, I closed my account and went to a local credit union. After I had closed my account, I had some difficulty because a paycheck was direct deposited to my old, closed account. When I called Bank of America about this, they told me the funds had not been deposited and that they could not hold them for me when they were received. Instead the funds would be sent back to my employer. Working with my HR department, I found out that the funds had actually been deposited and that the customer service representative had simply not taken the time to look it up and lied to me about it. When I called them again, they were unapologetic, refused to help me, would not send the funds to my new account, and were in general rude and unhelpful. This was not the first time a Bank of America employee gave me false information. I was assured by the branch manager that foreign currency exchange services were offered during one visit to a BoA branch. A few days later I went backt to the same branch at the same time and spoke with the same person to deposit about $20 in Euros into my account. On this instance though, I was informed that only paper foreign currency was accepted (despite the fact that 1 Euro and 2 Euro are only offered in coin form), and only at certain times during the day. Thus, they were completely unable to help me with this service. I would have liked to have been informed of that before I dragged that heavy sack of coins around with me all day. In short, most of my experience with Bank of America was a case of trusting ignorance. When I learned the truth about their illegal practices and went with a new bank, they were unhelpful and rude to me during the transition.

Very similar experience but today was the worst they outright removed a name on my acct without my knowledge or consent. Then they acted like it was my fault.

The branch manager was unbelievably rude.

I've been w this bank since the 90s first acct out if college etc and they could care less about how much business you've done with them. I'm going to a credit union.

#389569

I agree with your assessment of Bank of America. They have little interest in customer service.

One way this is reflected is in their stock price, down 89% in 5 years, and in their need to be bailed out by us. Glad you switched to a credit union.

I have been a credit union member for over 20 years and have never paid a fee. Ever.

Bank of America - The WORST MORTGAGE COMPANY IN THE US!

I tried to login to my BofA mortgage account, and it seems like EVERY TIME I login, something change with my validation questions, or site key. I tried to call them as it is only 8:30 EST time and all I get is there *** automated system, and after wading through countless menus, I am told they are CLOSED..........CLOSED, this is one of the biggest freakin' banks in the world and they cannot help their customers 24hrs a day?!?! B of A............WAKE THE *** UP BRIAN MOYNAHAN!!! 1.) Straighten out issues with your convoluted and cluster of a website, I should not have to select what state I am in to login, it is called Geo-caching, look into it, and fix your security challenge issues. I am a 16yr IT guy, and I have NEVER been through so many issues with your website being "temporarily unavailable", FIX THE PROBLEMS! I hate to think of what a non-IT person goes through trying to navigate the issues on your website. 2.)CREATE REAL CUSTOMER SERVICE: I don't care for your TV ads touting you are the best, your NOT! A real bank that gives 1/2 a rip about their customers would have 24x7x365 customer service and NOT be closed on the weekend when people actually have time to address issues (most of which ARE created by B of A automation) After the County Wide merger, I have had NOTHING but issues while dealing with B of A. Mr Moynahan, you nor any of your exec cronies are worth a $1.00 if you guys cannot even keep a website intact, easy to use, and available 24x7. If you you are not going to have phone agents available 24x7, then I might suggest you beef up your IT infra as I have been left with no other option tonight other than to chat with a *** IVR........this is NOT customer service. Stop trying to save a $ so you can improve your chances at a big fat bonus, and put the customers FIRST! That is it, I am done and plan to spread this message to as many sites as I can. I AM a paying customer, always current on my mortgage (other than when your systems screw something up), and I am pi$$ed of at the way you do business. Don't choose Bank of America

We have been trying to refinance our home with Bank of America for almost 5 months now. They have everything they need and continue to find ways to delay. Others have said that they just gave up. I believe this is deliberate so they can keep everyone's application fee. They have caused much stress in our lives-jobs and relationships. I've wanted to give up many times following another large list of letters, scans, and statement explanations they repeatedly request. Please save your relationship and health. Go to another company that is more professional, especially one that communicates with its colleagues so they aren't all asking for duplicates of everything. Tammy

BOA and Keller Williams

The only Realestate company that can put through short sales through BOA are Keller Williams, BECAUSE they have an inside guy pushing the short sales through. His name is JAY RUSK, the have a "special" 46:10 sales dept. in Keller Williams, prying on people of faith. Its amazing that thats the only company that can successfully navigate the Equator system and get any short sales through. Mr.Rusk is the closing specialist who sends the paperwork to the "investors" (that dont exist) with his majic pen he can get short sales approved for Keller Williams....WHY? Because he is employed by Keller Williams. CONFLICT OF INTEREST......YEAH. THIS IS OUR COUNTRY, THESE ARE OUR HOMES AND LIVES OF LOVED ONES, NEIGHBORS, AND FAMILY THEY ARE MESSING WITH, ARE YOU GOING TO KEEP TAKING IT ?

Raised price on house after signed a deal

We made an offer on the house at 12754 Fiddleaf in Boise on 4/28/11. The house was on a short sale listed for $105,000. We offered $100,000. The bank lowered the price to $102,000. We accepted the offer. We were told everything is ready and asked how are we paying for the house. We decided to go with the 3.99% home equity loan from US Bank. We told the funds on 8/19/11 and the house was scheduled close on 8/23/11. The closing date was posted four times because BOA keep saying some title issue with the county not clear yet. The last closing date was scheduled for 9/30/11. On 9/29/11, we were told that BOA raised the price to $108,000. We declined the offer, not because of the price, but that is just wrong. A multi-billion company back off on an offer accepted??? We paid $250.00 for home inspection. We paid 3.99% interest on $100,000 since 8/19/11. About $2000 out of pocket today, still counting, with no house, because of BOA's wrong doing. UB Bank charge $500.00 if we payoff within 3 years.
