Replacement of DEBIT cards - more 30 days and no show.

My DEBIT card expired end of last year. 5 weeks later, I have not recieved a new card. Called 3 times. Each time I was told the card was sent and I will recieve it in about 7 to 10 business days. I had to beg the customer service personnel to look into it. Only to learn from her that they only say card was sent. In truth, they forgot. Bank of America sure have very incapable, unqualified and unwilling to help staff. I wonder when I will ever recieve my DEBIT card. Perhaps, this is Bank of America way of using my money for FREE and I have no way to access my own money.

I had a loan remod with BOA and the loan was sold to Seterus

I want to know why Seterus received the loan when it was clearly BOA who was wtrong during the first loan and secondly completed my loan MOD. Now it's in the hands of Seterus and I don't know why? So does this protect BOA from all of the wrongdoing tey did with my first loan?

Bad Customer Service at Bank of America

Went to B of A to deposit a check. There were only 3 tellers, 15 customers in line. I was 3rd in line & waited 20 mins. 1 teller closed leaving only 2 & 3 other employees just walking around. When asked if they can help~their answer (supervisor/manager) was they are not tellers & that's when all the customers started to complain. The supervisor/manager then stated it's the beginning of the month, it always busy. That's no excuse, get more tellers for the 1st of the month. I pulled all my funds out of B of A & some of the other customers stated they will do the same. Your Bank is *** Irving & 22nd in San Francisco, CA

Poor Customer Service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have been making deposits for my company for years at BOA. Standing in line never cease to amaze me. Today there were about 15 people in line waiting to be assisted by a teller. I was 5th in line and I waited for 15 minutes before being helped. There were only two tellers available to assist customers. One of them were working the drive-thru, so there were literally one and a half teller assisting customers in line. I told the teller this is ridiculous and they might need to hire more tellers, especially during lunch time. This has happened on several occasions and at different branches. She advised there were sever other options available for banking. I told her I understand that, but what if a customer needs to speak to a live person. She sarcastically said “I will submit your complaint.” I have also used the ATM to make deposits and on occasions, there were errors. I deposited 15 checks and only 14 were accepted and they kept the 15th check and I was advised to contact the office the next business day. There weren't anything wrong with the check and it took a week before it was deposited into the company's account. Customer Service should be any company's number 1 priority. Maybe they should cross train or hire part-time tellers. This kind of service will cause a company to lose customers.

Bank Of America - Loan Modification Review from North Creek, Washington

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I bought a condo and was given a home loan by countrywide. When the economy crashed in 2009 I, who was a finish carpenter, was one of the first to loose my job. We called Bank of America right away and we were told they couldn't help us unless we were already late on our payments, we had NEVER been late so we waited the 3 months they told is to and called back. We were then informed that we didn't qualify because our condo had lost so much of its value ($189,000 down to around $50,000) Our next move was to do a short sale, we found a wonderful real estate agent who offered to help us for free. The only catch was that the homeowners association didn't have proper insurance on all the condos so we could only consider cash offers. We had three all cash offers for more than the condo was now worth Bank of America denied every offer so after a year and a half we lost hope. We were informed that we could be evicted within 6-9 months so we told them there was nothing more we could do and to go ahead and foreclose on it. Within a few months we moved to Montana to start rebuilding our lives in 2010. In 2011 we filed bankruptcy. When asked if we wanted to keep our condo we told the lawyer no and we chose to surrender it. We were under the impression that the condo was no longer ours after the bankruptcy. A job opportunity brought us back to Washington in 2012 when we got a call from Bank of America saying they still hadn't foreclosed we told them there was no way we were going to be able to get caught up and they should have taken it back years ago. Shortly after we received a call from the trustees office informing us that the condo was going to be auctioned off, we then asked if there was anything we needed to do they said "No" we thought it was over. Then in 2013 we received another call from Bank of America we were shocked to find out that they STILL hadn't taken it and AGAIN we told them there was nothing we could do that's why we had walked away 3-4 years ago. We were so confused as to why it was taking so long to foreclose when we had made NO attempt to keep the condo. In February 2014 we were served with papers from the homeowners association saying they were suing us for all the fees for those years BoA hadn't foreclosed ($20,400). The HOA got a judgment against us and started garnishing our wages at a crippling number. Frantically we called Bank of America to see if they had foreclosed yet and they still hadn't! And that's why the HOA sued us because if they would have waited they could only come after us for 6 months worth of fees. FINALLY in I think June of 2014 they foreclosed but we are still on the hook for the fees that we had NO IDEA we were even responsible for. We were NEVER contacted about owing anything ever. So we called Bank of America to see if they could help us since it was their fault they hadn't foreclosed and they said they might be able to. Weeks later we finally got a call that they were paying the amount which had swelled to over $28,000, in full. They were sending the check out that night or the following day. YAY!' We weren't going to be homeless!! Then a week passed, no word no check. So we called and they said that after that call they "reviewed their policies" and found that they weren't responsible. So they weren't sure how much they would pay for. They then told us they were only responsible for 6 months worth of the fees and that would be what they would pay which they STILL haven't paid. We have reached out to everyone we could think of to help us and even filed a complaint with the attorney general. Bank of America flat out lied saying we had never tried to do a short sale when there are records of the offers in the John L Scott database. Fast forward to this year and they haven't paid ANYTHING our checks are still being garnished and we feel hopeless and are about to lose everything. I believe that Bank of America should be responsible for the fees during all they years they did not foreclose because that was absolutely not of our doing. We tried to cut everyone's losses in 2009-**** when we tried to do a short sale which they denied all offers, we made NO attempt EVER to keep the residence, and we never resided in the residence after March of 2010. We, my children, should not have to lose everything AGAIN because of their delay.

go online and become familiar with Consumer Financial Protection Agency which is the successor to the comptroller of the currency complaint process. file a complaint with the COTC which will be forwarded on to the CFPA.

that should help take care of the problem. good luck to you my deepest condolences for what you have gone through and continue to go through because of a horrible horrible Bank of America.

I know exactly how you feel. Raped is the only word that comes to mind with BOA.

We are having the same issues as you. I've filed numerous complaints with BBB. I hate to say I'm happy to hear, in this case read, that unfortunately someone else has had this same devastating experience with BOA. I thought maybe it was only us they've screwed.

In our case it's still not ended. I hope to see if finally end. Yet, they've already ruined my credit. As with you they told us we had to be 90 days delinquent in payments.

The only hope is in the ended the idiots we've had to deal with, for 3 years, get it in return, hopefully foreclosure, so they can feel an ounce of heartaches as we have. I hope you get peace soon.

BOA mortgage loan officer

I wasted 2 months with an incompetent loan officer who did not do things right. BOA is totally disorganized. I need to submit same materials over and over. The officer has no idea how important my time is, called me whenever he needed additional materials, often one day before the deadline. The underwriter did not understand the insurance system for the type of property that I was trying to refinance, and rejected my application despite the thorough explanation of the insurance agency. BOA in fact approved my mortgage application 6 years ago with the same property and the same insurance. The loan officer became unresponsive, kept ignored my emails and calls.

Bank Of America - Checking Account Review from Boston, Massachusetts

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I asked for a checking account where it wasnt possible to acquire overdraft fees. What i got was a checking account where if someone goes in to take money out its denied and i am charged $35 dollars then if the request is returned i get charged another $35. I am disabled and after working my whole lige i get a whopping $938.00 once a month to live on and it is direct deposited into my bank of america account. Last month my overdraft fees on my no overdraft account came to $300????? Bank of america did not pay any requests but charged me $35 everytime a request for money was put in and $35 dollars everytime the request was retracted to me that is stealing. I wouldnt care if they had paid the money then charged me the overdraft fee but they didnt cover anything.instead they stole $300 from my account.

You spent money you didn't have.

You blame the bank for your over spending.

They don't honor the items, which would put you even more negative.

You complain that you owe money you can't afford while complaining they didn't pay the items thus causing you even more money.

You state they stole money but do not call police.

You are ***...just admit it and move on!

Dona Yja

1. Stop using a debit card.

Write checks or use a credit card

2. Get an account, checking and savings, at a local credit union.

Not a bank! Good luck.

Infuriating customer service on specific NY location

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I went into the BoA located at the 34th St and Broadway and went to desk help because I need a document notarized. I spoke with the Asian girl there; wish I got her name so I can publicize her. She was very unprofessional and rude with her attitude. She spoke to us in a condescending tone as if she has better things to do than to answer our questions. I thought her job IS to help the bank's clienteles. Granted the BoA website do not have a section to make an appointment regarding the notary. Tried that. Called and nothing but number options and when wanting to speak with a rep from that location, go on line! Since that was futile, I showed up in person and first most was 'well you should've made an appointment". Okay. someone is having a bad day. Then I realized I missed a page of my document when she looked over it so I went home, got it and headed back to the bank. I was waiting again, really hoping that I would speak to another person but she saw me and told me to take a seat since she remembered me from 30 mins ago. I waited while she was still helping with another client. She was speaking with that lady pleasantly. After all the waiting and she calls me up, just to tell me that the person that can do the notarizing is out and come back in 40 mins. I said 'excuse me?" her next response was "or you can just go to the other locations we have." Ending our brief conversation with well "it will be so much better if you made an appointment" Seriously, I have never been so infuriated leaving any BoA branch.

Resolved: BOFA Credit Card service team Highly irresponsible and unethical

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Updated by user Jun 11, 2015

Update: It turns out Complaint was well received by BOFA Enterprise Customer care resolution team and helped me within 1 day to track down the card delivery. I was able to locate the card and previous cards too.

Suggestion: Improve the 1st level Credit card customer care representatives approach to resolve the problem with immediate request, with just little more digging into issue, and able to provide more info, it avoids lots of waste of time and going into circles.

I'm back as a happy BOFA customer. Thanks for the quick turn around and helping out.

Original review Jun 08, 2015
BOFA had always been a reliable and trustworthy Bank with good customer support and Banking features for my financial needs. But the recent experience with it's Credit card services has broken the myth. For reference, I'm located in Georgia for more than 6 months now with updated address, moved from last California address. Day1: I ran into this issue when I mistakenly lost my card on/around 20th Apr and reported to Bank after not finding it at home or with belongings. As expected they blocked the lost card and re-issued a new card which was to be sent to my current and updated address within a week. Day15: After checking mailbox everyday for next two weeks I contacted Credit card team again and informed that I haven't received the card yet. Consequently hey re-issued me 2nd card with a Rush delivery option, for over night or 2-3 day delivery, of card. Day20: Called them again to check the status since card is yet not received, when this credit card service associate on call told that Rush delivery was stuck in system and he has to clear it, which should again take maximum 2-3 days to deliver. Day30: No card in mailbox yet, called them again. This time associate on call gave a broader picture and informed that at least 2nd card was sent to my California address, which I'd already changed 6 months back. He told that he is filing an internal complaint to look into matter that how card was delivered to incorrect address and also issued me another 3rd card. Day35: No card yet, called again. This time lady on call told that card is on its way with overnight or priority delivery and I can get the tracking number as well by next 1-2 day, and I decided to wait again. Day38: No card, no tracking number yet. Called them again, after couple of long holds on-line male associate on call informed me that 3rd card was sent through normal delivery and will be received in 14-15 days and nothing can be done now but wait. When I asked to connect to the supervisor I was again kept on brief hold and then told no supervisor is available to take call so I can only wait for card to be received in another 4-5 Business days. Day 44: And I'm still waiting to receive the card. After all this I've decided to file an official complaint against BOFA Credit card services team and concerned people, this has been a mental trauma for me since BOFA's credit card has been my primary credit management instrument and I've been a consistent customer with paying all the bills on time. It's been a very rough case handling by BOFA team, very insensitive and passing all the false information almost every time I called. Lots of questions.. Which address they sent the first card? Why was 2nd card sent to California address? Why was 3rd card even after specifically telling the situation sent with regular delivery and told as Rush delivery? I'm a furious and highly disappointed BOFA customer who has lost all good faith in their Banking and customer handling process. Bad consumer publicity is the worst thing that kills business, and you can never suppress it.

Refinance and ID theft

For those of you who plans to refinance your home loans with Bank of America, just be careful. I recently have been a victim of Identity Theft after I refinanced my home loans with Bank of America. I gave all my personal information including my social security number to Bank of America. The refinance process went through. However, a few weeks later, I found out someone stole my personal information to obtain several credit card accounts and other banking/financial accounts to commit crime by purchasing merchandises and other goods. Either Bank of America sold my information to a third party or a bank employee stole my identity to commit crime. PLEASE be careful if you plan to use Bank of America to refinance.
