I was applying to change a variable rate home equity loan to a fixed rate equity loan. At the branch, I went, there was a loan officer who comes only on Thursdays and Fridays 9:00 - 12:00 noon. I had an absolutely HORRIBLE experience getting my home loan from Bank of America. It was the WORST customer service EVER. I could write a novel about the agony but I will try to condense it to meet this format. Needless to say I am moving my banking elsewhere and I know they will sell my home loan probably before I make my first payment, so at least I will never have to deal with them again. Paid on time for fifteen years and paid extra principle each month so probably $20,000 ahead in payments. The home was sold and in escrow in the last month and they charge a $54 late fee for the last month and sent an e-mail threatening a collection agency. Lots of luck if you deal with these crooks.
