Verified Reviewer | Colleyville, TexasATM Card Charges Declined
Bank of America has the worst fraud detection system and worst of the worst customer support. Hands down.
This is from my three decades of experience on dealing with many banks. I buy a meal at McDonalds and in 5 minutes buy another meal in Chick-Fil-A for the other hungry kid returning from a practice with only one card in the pocket. They decline my charge without giving any explanation and never give an option to approve or deny the charge through the BOA app. I have every single fraud notification turned on from their app.
It does not matter. This has happened like 20 times in the last few months. Theres enough fund in my checking account, I have a pretty decent corporate America job. It does not matter, they get pleasure on embarrassing the customer by not letting them use their own freaking money when they are waiting at the long line with a hungry 5-year-old kid.
Then you call their dreaded customer support. Wait on the line for 30 minutes. Derrick and a few other fraud specialists are great on hanging up on customer. BOAs fraud specialists are eating their own *** No empathy, no understanding of customers valuable time, they think everyone who is calling them is a fraud.
This fraud department dude cancelled my ATM card two months ago without giving me an explanation when I called to dispute ONE charge for the service that I cancelled and the company was still charging me. Fraud specialist *** I had to redo 10 different auto-draft payments and wait two weeks to get the new ATM card. Then you keep calling back, get a supervisor, they promise you it would never happen. Happens again in a few days - denying me from spending my own money at the same city in Dallas.
This fing bank is by far the worst of the worst and has been nothing but a worst nightmare. No comparison, no remorse in exposing this third world kinda service provider and so-called one of top three banks in the U.S. I dont know how the F this bank is still serving people. If the leadership of this bank is seeing my review, they are clueless whats going on with the failure on every level of serving their clients.
Such a freaking embarrassment of using the word Bank of AMERICA.
Epitome of total nonsense compliance, risk versus customer focused banking system. They should be named Bank of the deep *** La La Land Nigeria.
- Everything about this bank is a pain on your bottom
Preferred solution: Apology
User's recommendation: Close your account with BOA and give any other banks your business
Your managers are a bunch of clowns.
- Website and app are pretty good
- All customer service is terrible
- And they make very poor decisions at a management level
Preferred solution: Apology
User's recommendation: Do not sign up with Bank of America

Verified ReviewerBad credit card customer service
Horrible credit card establishment. They took several days to post an electronic payment, then they said it was late and charged me a fee.
An electronic payment that has been set up for many years and I have never had issues with it. I always pay over my minimum payment. But when they added that late fee to the next months minimum which made my payment short, and then they charged another fee. It took them 3 months to notify me, and I was unaware since it was on auto-pay, and basically they said oh well it's your problem.
I will never do business with them again if they don't fix their scamming ways.
I have excellent credit and there are too many other banks out there to deal with poor customer service who hangs up on you. I know I'm only one person, but I hope it causes many others to think hard and take their business elsewhere to more deserving establishments.
- Fair offers
- High interest and crazy fees rude customer service
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Use another bank. I have a chase card that never *** fees and just calls

Verified Reviewer | San Francisco, CaliforniaWas treated very poorly by an assistant mgr Maria Lopez
I was treated with the utmost disrespect by an assistant mgr Maria Lopez, who refused to cash a check that was issued to me by my sister for 3000 dollars, we both have accounts with bank of america she then refused to cash my check against my account and also refused to deposit the check to my account she stated that I had to go outside and deposit it through the atm machine which made no sense to me as I tried to adk her why she walked away from me leaving me still trying to get an answer from her very poor customer skills not sure why or how she was nominated that position of leadership because she is only making the ratings reflect her personality.
User's recommendation: Avoid contact with her

Verified Reviewer | Plainville, ConnecticutTo dispute a charge they originally declined then let go through
I wanted to dispute A charge that BOA first declined, texted me to say they declined the charge because it looked suspicious, told me they wouldn't let any future charges from Avast go through.(This is a one time charge. I paid for the year.)
.Then BOA let the charge go through 5 days later.
When I called and spoke with a representative about it they said that I needed to pay 30 dollars to have the charge removed. I never heard of such a thing in my 45 years of banking. I was with BOA for the last 17 years and this was the first time I ever asked for their help. They told me to go *** in a hat.
I called the attorney General and told her my entire experience. She said she would send me out some paper work to file a grievance against BOA.
User's recommendation: Stay far away from BOA they will only help you if you have a bunch of money in their bank, they won't lift a finger for anyone else.

Verified Reviewer | Plainville, ConnecticutTo dispute a charge they originally declined then let go through
I signed up for a 60 day trial of Avast security online and was charged 82.86 to my debit card Bank of America declined the charge and sent me a text saying so,and to call the number provided in the text. I called the number and talked with a representative of boa about the charge from Avast and was assured by the boa representative that I would not be billed again by Avast.
A few days later on September 5th I was charged 82.86 a second time from Avast and contrary to what I was told boa let the charge go through. And now won't do anything to help. boa gave me a number for Avast to call that is no longer valid. So, boa declined the first charge, told me about it, agreed to decline any further charges from Avast and then turned around and let Avast charge me for what I think is just about the worst PC security available as they charged me 82.86 and keep showing me pop ups to buy more because nothing is encluded with the 82.86 subscription not even a simple scan.
So,now I've been ripped off twice, I got a lousy product from Avast who won't refund me without some number they need and isn't provided in anything they sent me.
And by bank of america for letting Avast charge me the second time. Even though I spoke with them about what happened with Avast antivirus.
.
User's recommendation: Stay far away from Bank of America and Avast antivirus

Verified ReviewerNightmare apply auto loan and was charged after cancel
I recently applied for the auto loan. They kept workaround for a week; this causes my order was canceled.
In order to keep my order, I had to sign finance with my dealer. After that, I called them to cancel the car loan; they said the cancel was requested. After 2 weeks, I still saw my car loan. I called them again.
They said they had not received any check from the dealer. I called my dealer and they said they had not received any check from Bank of America and asked me to request the check tracking number or any proof that they sent the check. I called bank again and they could have not provided any tracking number or proof they had sent the check and required me to pay the interest until the loan is canceled. They just kept ask me to call this department and others but no solution was provided.
I write this review hopefully help some one to avoid or be careful when deciding to apply the loan with Bank of America. Please be careful!
