BOA has become a large and impersonal institution that is nearly impossible to deal with outside or straight plane "vanilla" transactions. I have been with them for over 20+ years.

I had, at one time, at least two different mortgages, and currently have a number of accounts including checking, saving, "credit card-saving". I routinely have an average daily balance in excess of 20K and at times as much as 40K. I have never "bounced a check" nor had suspicious activity on any of my accounts.

I recently helped solve a family member with a financial issue--who is disabled and their spouse just passed. I used my own personal finances.

As a result, I was given a business check (from a national company) that needed to be endorsed to me for deposit. I went to my so-called "local bank" and they were completely uncooperative in accepting the check --even with "holds" on the deposit. I discussed with them that I know I am responsible should the check be returned and if there was any type of fraud that would be on me.

It was as if I was talking to a deer! They just give you this blank look and say there is nothing they could do.

If the check was deposited, it would be returned, and I would be charged a fee???

Third-party checks can be suspect at times however the issues are usually pretty simple to deal with and for long times customers, particularly when that customer has more funds on deposit than the face value of the check the bank is protected.

So I promptly called my other bank USAA, and they told me not a problem, just be sure to endorse it correctly. So I promptly deposited it there and Viola, NO HOLDS, money immediately available.

This is not the first time I have been surprised at their service, but for the most part, overlooked that but now...

I am done.

Consequently, I have just transferred all my saving money to USAA and am in the process of closing accounts. There is no advantage in customer loyalty to BOA.

User's recommendation: Try to find a local bank or us USAA if you qualify.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

Bank Of America Pros: On line bill pay.

Bank Of America Cons: Not easy to reach by phone, Limited ability to respond to nonvanilla issues.

Location: 6901 Northwest Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73132

Yes, the review is subjective, but that does not change the core issue, which is there was no clear,, compelling reason, or legal to not seek information as to why the bank couldn't accept the item for processing.

" bank USAA" Then bank there and stop the whining. It's incessant and irritating.

By the way, no need to pad your complaint with lame, irrelevant details such as how long you've been with then, your helping someone disabled yada yada yada. Oh, sorry, you were looking for sympathy and an atta boy.

Well, you're a great human being. Hope this helps loser.

I agree the information about the disabled person was not particularly relevant, save perhaps to answer the question as to why she, herself was not able to take of the transaction. The length of banking history was however relevant as it would demonstrate to anyone working there the person was had a credible financial history with the institution.
