Closed my savings account several weeks ago through a phone call and was told a check for the balance was being mailed. When I called a week later, I was told that I would have the check within a week.
When I called a week later (having not received a check), was told that since the amount was greater than 25k I needed to submit a written authorization for BofA to send me a certified check. This is sadly typical of all interactions I've had for the 25 years of being a customer, which is why I have been closing all of my accounts.
Poor training and bad service. When combined with the arrogance which comes from a large organization where no individual actually matters, a poor business model is perpetuated.
