We have been with the bank for 25 years and somebody entered my last name as middle name. When the account verification was needed, the error was caught BUT even though it was not my fault, they froze our accounts and told us that we HAD to go to a local branch to get...

When you go in to the branch, fire B of A and go to a local, community bank or better yet, a credit union. All of the monster mega banks are a bad deal.

Bank of America is the most arrogant Least customer friendly company around. I get better service at the DMV. Their attitude is why 1. I do not invest with them. My investments total 7.65 million dollars. 2. I do not keep much money in their bank 3. I bad mouth them every chance I get online or in person They go out of their way to belittle customers and make them feel like they are being laughed at. Their customer service is ridiculous. 2 HOUR HOLD TIMES! REALLY? They might as well have the recording say : "*** YOU LOSER WE HAVE YOUR MONEY AND DON'T GIVE A *** WHAT YOU WANT. WE AIN'T ANSWERING THE *** PHONE. WE ARE TOO BIG TO GIVE A ***. " At least that would honestly express how the really feel about their customers.

I called bank of America regarding a dispute on my account and it took seventy minutes to talk to someone, and after i talk to him he transferred me to the wrong department which also took thirty minutes to get to a representative. He also put me on hold for and another thirty minutes and at this point i was beyond angry. I thought some one was really playing a joke on me. I was calling from my cell phone in total i was on the phone for two hours trying to get someone to explain to me why my dispute hasn't be resolved. Bank of America should be ashamed . If this is way they treat their customers be assured that i will be closing my account.

I stayed on the line to talk to customer service to transfer money from my checking to savings. After 10 minutes I gave up waiting and hung up. That's ridiculous! Why should it take that long to do such a simple thing? This isn't the first time that I had problems...

Bank of America is a lousy bank. Yesterday I went to get a cashiers check and they only had one teller doing transactions and the other teller was counting money wit heir machine. In the meantime the line was backing up.

I've been a customer for almost 10 years and it seems like this bank has gone to pits in the last 2 years. Their customer service is so pathetic and I feel sorry for their reps because they don't have the ability to resolve customer issues. I called to stop a bill pay payment I scheduled through B of A and they aren't capable of doing so. How can your bank, whom is sending the funds, not cancel their own transaction? With all that bailout money they received a few years ago, they should've invested in better systems. They're legit ready to lose a custome with their lack of being able to resolve customer issues.

Update by user May 21, 2016

My problem is not solved so my credit card payment of $1375 is in Limbo

.I was on phone for over 4 hours from one person to another

Original review posted by user May 17, 2016

This bank is the worst I have ever dealt with. Today I went through Teller Assist drive thru to make a payment on my Bank of America Visa. The teller told me to punch my card number in which I did. Then she told me to put the money into the machine. No envelopes just the money.I tried and it wouldnt do it.The teller said to pull it back out and put it in again. So I put 1,380.00 in .Well now it spits back 5 dollars and keeps the rest.It is STUCK IN THE MACHINE! IT DIDNT REGISTET IT TO MY ACCOUNT.So I am given a number to call.I call .I am on holf for 20 min. Finally get to talk to someone but has no idea what to do.Transfers me to some new and they say wrong department.Transfer me again and hold for longer then 20 they answer and again they say wrong dept.I was on the phone for a good 2 hours and havent resolved the matter.I have to call tommorrow. So unprofessional. One young girl was laughing .This is not a funny situation.Bank of America uou need to hire people who know whatbthey are doing. Not these clowns.I pray I gett my money back. This is the 3 rd bad expetience in 2 months. So if you dont want a headache DO NOT BANK HERE.

Bank Of America - Account Review from Glen Burnie, Maryland

Last year BOA charged four overdraft fees on four small cash transfers between mine and my fiance's accounts. ($2-4 each transfers) They had put a gas charge on my account dated a few days earlier so they could get those fees. I called and the rep could not give the fees back. He transfers me to a supervisor who was extremely rude and I LOST IT with him because that money they took was supposed to be grocery money for us. We are poor and at the time my daughter was 2 years old. I try calling again later when I calmed down some, the rep agreed with me but was blocked from being able to return my fees. Long story short, a billion transfers and escalating and filing a complaint they still denied returning those fees. They said the cash transfers triggered the fees, but if I already had a negative balance add they claimed (I didn't!!!) then the transfers would never have happened in the first place! I went to Consumer Financial Protection Bureau with my complaint and in about .0001 second BOA returned my fees. So skip to today, a year later, same thing happened on a smaller scale. My fiance took $4.50 yesterday leaving a .44 positive balance. Today is payday and my renters insurance for $12 shows as processing. This triggers the $35 fee. (I should mention, BOA randomly started taking $12 monthly fees from our accounts with no warning, and the date always changes. Guess what came out a couple of days ago?) So I call, the guy on the phone tries to say oh no, the cash transfer triggered the fee because you already had a negative balance. Well ACTUALLY, no I didn't, because again, how could we transfer cash if it was negative? Not to mention I watch my account like a hawk and as of yesterday it was a positive .44 balance. So I tell him that's a lie, and these two charges are only appearing today. I also explained how I had to involve CFPB last year over the exact same issue. So he escalates me to his supervisor. The last gets on the phone and changes the story. Now it's not the cash transfer that triggered the fee but the item that is processing isn't actually processing, even though it SAYS it's processing, so therefore it's entitled to the $35 fee. But you know, it's okay because "as a courtesy" she's returning the fee. My personal belief is I only got this fee returned because I heavily insinuated (and intended) the involvement of CFPB again. It must be really nice to steal money that goes to feeding people's children to pay off those multi-million dollar class action lawsuits you lost, you lying, unethical, snake-in-the-head pieces of TRASH.

This is awful but with the $12 being taken out monthly is actually something that has been going on for a while now. I have an account with them and they take it out on a monthly basis if your balance isn't at a certain amount each month.

Also it does processing but they do take it out of your account so your balance will be accurate all the time. I'm sorry about the fees for the overdrafts but my question is how are you taking $2-$4.50 out if you don't have any money?

@Whoop23

There -is- money in there for the transfers or we 1) wouldn't try to transfer anything, and 2) wouldn't be able to if there were actually a negative balance. The monthly fee is new on our accounts as of a few months ago.

We received no notice this would begin or anything.

I have not done anything about the $12 fees and decided to just let those go until we switch banks, but the $35 they're charging for processing (or in the first case, pre-dated) items is outrageous to begin with, then to flat out lie and say it's for the cash transfers is ridiculous. They manipulate what appears on the accounts to milk these fees out of people.
