I got a letter on May 6th saying "your accounts listed above will be restricted from use in 50 days and permanently closed 60 days from the date of this notice"Initially I thought this was a scam or a hoax because my wife and I have had an active checking account with BOA for over 20 years and a thriving business/merchant account since 2017. We have exceptional credit ratings in the 800's, have never gone overdrawn, missed a credit card payment etc etc etc. So I called the number on the bottom of the letter and finally ended up with this idiot (Jesus 844 253 3707 - naming and shaming here deliberately 'cos these people need to be called out). He came out with "We're closing your account because we believe BOA can no longer meet your business banking needs and just as you have the right to close an account so do we" - WHAT???? I have never complained about BOA not being able to fulfill my bankings needs so what is all this about? I said I wanted to talk to his boss because this is obviously a mistake - He then told me he was the Account Manager for my account and there was nobody else to talk to. So I said well if that is the case then you must have been the one to make this decision to close my account, so you can give me a reason why. Needless to say he just went back to the script, so I lost it a bit and said 'you're not an account manager you're just a mouthpiece for a s**thole bank' and hung up. Have arranged a confrontation at my local branch next week, who helped me and actively encouraged me to set up my Business Account with them. Be interesting to see how that goes. I just cannot believe that an institution like this can treat people this way. If I had been dissatisfied with the bank I would have communicated that to them and at least given them the opportunity to remedy the situation, but for them to just decide that they want to dump me for no reason and not give any kind of explanation is a disgrace. And laughably I said will this apply to my older personal account? He said no, so you can imagine what I said they could do with all of my other accounts! AND even more stupid 3 weeks ago I got a call from BOA small business, asking me if I was interested in obtaining a business loan!!!!
It is hard to comprehend that I have been seeking help from Bank of America for nearly FORTY FIVE (45) months now. They deserve the vote they got last year as one of the worst American Companies and they are STILL doing the same things along with flagrant, negligent misrepresentation as set forth in the Montana Supreme Court ruling last year in the "Morrow Case" and the epic settlement supposedly with the U. S. Department of Justice. They have a huge customer service department now renamed Enterprise Customer Care Resolution Team and they are terrible. They all make claim to be with the "office of the president and ceo" which could not be further from the truth. There is apparently a whole office of these inept people operating in Southern California. In the supposed epic settlement with the USDOJ supposedly $7 BILLION DOLLARS was supposed to best aside to help people like me with loans that originated with Countrywide (which B of A purchase back in 2009) and B of A. I am a 70 year old Vietnam Veteran and they treat me like dirt and lie and demand duplicate documents over and over again to different offices- they need to put all these people in jail in my humble opinion and the CFPB and Congress members are just as terrible and dysfunctional so don't expect any help- this is another example of why our wonderful country is headed in the wrong direction.

Bank of America found the mistake the Fraud Department was making. BoA has already issued a full refund that I have been waiting on since May 2019.

If you have a BOA Visa and thought you could put money on the card early to cover spending ahead of fees. Think again. They stole 190.45 out, using the term Credit Balance Refund Debit. They take the money out, they don't inform you, and then send a check for that...

CREDIT BALANCE REFUND DEBIT is crazy rule, why provide check and waste papers?! Just credit back my bank account with money, as simple as that!

Absolutely terrible customer service staff absolutely terrible employees. Hours to actually talk to someone or going to the bank are also terrible. It’s really not that hard it’s not correct training it’s termination. Start looking at upper management because they’re not doing their job. Trying to transfer money from account to another bank I’m not waiting five days i’m gonna actually start making money and my money.

I'd rather bury my money in a shoebox in the backyard than bank at Bank of America, worst bank I have ever seen in my 65 years on this earth, they tell you one thing and do the opposite, no one has a clue as to what they are doing all you get is a run around, I have 2 words for BOA but not aloud to print them LOL

Don't use smart-phone app for depositing checks to this bank. They randomly hold large deposits (over $5,000) for an extra 2 weeks. This really hurts your cash flow and lets them sit on the funds for their use. Always go to a teller. You get next day availability of funds. Or better - go to another bank.

Yes, I spent most of my Saturday dealing with a similar frustrating situation! In our case, a check we typically deposit monthly from one of our other accounts into our BOA account to pay bills was, for some reason placed on a 9 day hold when it never has been before.

To make matters worse, all of the funds showed up as available 2 days after I deposited the check so I then proceeded to pay a bill which got returned by BOA for insufficient funds! Meanwhile, since the issuing account is our account, we actually have a copy of the cash checked which cleared that account days ago and the amount was deducted from that account.

So, basically, our money is in limbo for 9 days? So infuriating!
