Bank visit

Every month I have to take my friend to the bank on Broadway St. in Hammonton, NJ most of the time I go through the drive thru. I will have to say that 99% of the time I have to wait more than 20 minutes. I usually wait for a time that I know they are not busy however almost always I am the only car waiting for that long and I see no one else around. I have to say that for that reason I left that bank and went to another and I am thinking of telling my mom & friend to do the same. I usually leave work to take them & it is ridiculous to have to wait that long when clearly there is no one there. Most of the time I only see one person taking care of the drive thru as well as the people inside. This is not the first time I have complained about the same thing this has to be like the 10th time or more. I would not recommend this bank to anyone.

Put Citibank check on hold for 12 days

We deposited a Citibank check at a BoA ATM for $3000 on May 2 and noticed that they were holding the check until May 14th. We called to find out why since in about 25+ years of being with BoA that had not happened. We were told that they weren't sure if the check would clear. Really, a check from Citibank? We have a photocopy of the ATM deposit slip with a photo of the check. At this point I am checking out other banks that might provide better service and better customer support.

Will not correct their mistake.

I recently purchased a car and financed it with BOA. I had it set up for the payment to come out of my checking account each month. The very first payment was doubled. In other words they deducted two payments from my account. I called them and reported it. A few days later it hadn't been reversed so I called again. This time I was told it would be done on Dec. 4. They took the payment out of my account on Nov. 13. I told them I was running short of money by them doing this. I was then told I needed to prove they took two payments so I faxed the bank statement showing two payments being deducted. I never had this kind of experience with a bank before. I never will deal with them again.

Loyal customer no more

I have had Bank of America for almost 10 years. It was my first start again Bank account when I was going through a new start in my life. It was a good relationship. So good, that I opened up two business accounts with them one to start my business the other to revamp my business. I also had personal accounts and my children’s account. They just gave me a notice saying they’re just gonna freeze my account in 21 days and permanently close them in 30. They literally just close my business credit card without warning. I am a business owner that has several trucks on the road I also have a good 15 to 20 checks coming out weekly for hired help and now I have to find some kind of banking solution with in a week in order to make sure that I can get my direct deposit‘s put in my account and have the money available so I can run my business and there was no explanation whatsoever. It’s not like I keep my bank accounts negative. I bounced one check in six years and it’s just terrible the way I feel like a criminal or like I did something wrong but they won’t tell me anything. The banking manager says there’s nothing they can do about it and they won’t even be able to get any information. It’s all done by corporate. Wow Bank of America! What a way to screw over loyal customers. Especially the ones that been through with you guys. When I went in the bank yesterday to speak to the manager, they said a guy before me had a business checking account with Bank of America for 25 years and they closed it just like that. No explination whatsoever.

You don't say where you are from but hopefully your town has a locally owned bank. I switched both my personal and business accounts to a locally owned bank a decade ago and haven't looked back.

#1489505

This is a very poor example of a bank. Try a local, community bank or even better, a credit union.

#1487659

The close accounts for suspected fraud, too many overdrafts, too many bounced checks. It’s one of the three.

Tuition Unreimbursed

I worked for Bank of America from June 2014 to June 2015. I specifically applied for a part-time position to take advantage of their tuition reimbursement program. First I want to start by saying, I started working at a great branch with great training. I felt like I was apart of a team. Around 3 months into working for Bank of America, I was approached and told that I would be covering for a different branch because this branch needed assistance with their bilingual customers. While I was there, the atmosphere was completely different then what I was used to. This branch had no team work. The assistant manager was very pushy on tellers pushing customers to open credit card accounts. I hated being there but I complied because it was my job. After a few weeks I called my old branch only to find out they hired a new teller because they were told I wasn't coming back. I was never asked if it was ok for me to stay working at this new branch. I started to adjust to the changes only because my new branch manager was probably one of the best managers I've ever had. She was always very understanding and a good listener, but this still did not resolve the fact that her branch had no team work. After my fall semester, I submitted my first reimbursement. I did exactly what I was told and gave my documents to my branch manager. She assured me that she faxed my docs and that everything went through to the company in charge of reimbursement. I waited the 3 month period, but I never received anything from Acclaris. By the time I complained about what happened to my documents, my branch didn't have a branch manager anymore. Mary (Manager) had resigned to work for another bank. I had reached out to our acting manager (John), even submitted my docs to him twice. I also spoke to our new regional manager (Michelle) about the issue. I waited as I was told to and nothing was resolved. The company acclairis told me that this was the banks negligence and they could not help me with reimbursement. In spring of 2015 my branch went through a transitional period where they had no manager and no assistant manager, just two part time tellers and 1 customer service representative. I ended up getting fired in June for failure to comply with the opening and closing procedures of the company. I personally believe they had something against me because I kept pressing the issue concerning my reimbursement. I submitted new reimbursement for Spring of 2015 and again, and the company acclairis indeed told me this reimbursement was not received. So I did contact the regional manager, had the docs signed all over again, and submitted everything again. This time I was able to get my reimbursement, but they still screwed me on $1544 in tuition.

Retaliation on business accounts

Bank Of America - Retaliation on business accounts
I have 3 platinum business acts. W/ Bank of America & have been with them for 13 years. After a horrible encounter with a racist financial manager (which I have recorded) rather than release the video of this manager admitting that what she was telling me was illegal. I contact BofA and filled a complaint. They respond by closing my accounts without sufficient notice. This is clear retaliation. Watch the video below.

I've been a BofA customer for over 33 years and need to cancel my accounts with them as soon as I can get my expired drivers license extended. Our government states that we have until January 2022 to accomplish this because of Covid19, but Bank of America will not accept my drivers license as valid ID. They are definitely as pain in the *** and I am so sorry I didn't close out all my accounts when I cancelled my investments with them.

Extremely consistant poor service....poorly run bank.

EVERY TIME I go into the bank there are lines at the auto window and not enough tellers at the inside windows. I always have to wait 10 mt15 min every time I go in to make a deposit etc. The bank Mgr or whatever his title is, is scurrying around looking important, accomplishing nothing. Todays visit was no exception. The lady behind me confirmed my complaint by saying she also has had to wait excessive time each visit. Today I was 3rd in line inside. There was one teller hung up with a complicated deposit of some kind, and one teller for the line of cars outside. After 15 min. the "executive" mentioned above, went to the last person in line, by now number 5 or 6, took his transaction to "help". All he did was go to the auto teller with the transaction for her to handle, it making the wait longer than it was. He eventually came to me asking if he could take care of my transaction, I had a deposit, all paperwork and my deposit slip made out. He asked for my atm card, and when I said I didn't have it he went to someone else. This was a deposit not a request to cash a check. I keep a minimum of $10,000.00 in my checking account, a very good customer. Disturbed, I left the bank thinking of moving my accounts, which I have had for 10 years, to the Chase located next door.

BOA has Transparency phobia

I received a statement for $7,279 approx. and paid it off 2 days before the statement date. It turns out no matter if you pay in full what they say your statement is, they are going to come back the next month and charge you interest for paying off what they indicate...

when you pay off your statement balance you have been accruing interest from the statement closing date each day on your balance. So if you pay the whole balance off near your payment due date you will have approximately 20 plus days of interest that will appear on your next statement because the interest cannot be calculated until that statement's closing date.

It's not transparency, it's understanding how it works when interest accrues daily. If you want to get closer to a true "pay off" banks have pay off calculators that can get you much closer to the actual payoff amount but you need to ask for it and not assume you are paying off your card with the statement balance.

BOA - CATCH 22

THE CATCH-22 FEMA writes flood insurance policies for homes in flood crisis. Your mortgage company for properties in flood zones require flood insurance policies to cover the risk of flooding. My customer Jerry Wilson had a $60K flood insurance policy on his property for many years. In Houston we had a drastic flood in April that devastated Jerry Wilson’s home and forced him to live in his attic. FEMA paid him $10K in April and told him he would get the rest later. They gave him the rest four months later. Jerry’s mortgage company, Bank of America, did an audit on his policy and decided that the policy needed to have $72K in coverage to meet their requirements. Jerry called FEMA to add coverage to his policy. FEMA told Jerry that while he was in a claim. He could not change his coverage. They offered to close his claim, but Jerry’s home was not yet repaired because FEMA had taken four months to pay him. Bank of America told Jerry that unless he changed his coverage, they would add the remaining coverage at a much higher price and charge him on his mortgage payment. Even though Jerry was trying to do everything asked of him, FEMA and BANK of AMERICA refused to make an exception to help this customer in a Catch 22 situation to make things right.

Mathews Va., Worst service ever

I arrived at drive up at 8:55. Bank opens at 9. Car was already waiting in line 1, I went to line 2. At 9:05 I figured they were a little late. At 9:10 I called inside to remind them to open. They said there was a sign in line 1 to come inside, they were short handed and not opening drive up. I was in line 2 where there was no sign. The elderly lady in line 1 could not read the sign. (It wasn't very large) The elderly woman at line 1 could barely walk with her cane and had to struggle to get into the lobby only to find 2 tellers. One was open and one was working on night deposit bags and wouldn't help us. The one that was open had a customer with a lengthy transaction and the one doing night drop bags ignored us. Being an ex banker I know that you lock up night drop bags and do them during down times not when you have an 85 year old customer waiting. She stood there until 9:20 waiting for the teller and the 2nd teller ignored her and the other customers in line the whole time. The manager sat on his butt in his office and watched the whole thing and never moved to help. I made it very clear to him and everyone else in the bank what I thought of them and the way they treated customers.

9th in a line of 12. This happens every day. 2 tellers and the management standing around watching. It takes 15-30 minutes to get to the counter. Unacceptable customer service. When you get to the counter, service is great but this is the new normal. Not enough staffing for times they KNOW are busy. Snap out of your cheapness bank of america
