Bad Experience With Bank Of America

1.0
Details
We received a check from our insurance company for Home Hail Damage. We had to send the check to Bank Of America for their signature so we could deposit it to our account. The Bank sent the check back to us because they wanted us to include the repair bid, the Contractor's W9, license, etc. We got all the requested documents, stapled these to the check and overnighted them to the bank. A month later, no sign of the check. We called Bank Of America to find out what was taking so long. The bank claimed they could NOT release our check until we submit the documents they requested. How can this be? The documents were stapled to the check. If they have our check, they should be able to find the documents! To save time, we decided to Fax them the documents and then followed up with a call. Bank Of America confirmed they received our fax with all the documents they had requested and they were to overnight the check back to us so we could deposit it to our account and pay our contractor for the work done. Today, more than 6 weeks later, we still have NOT received our check. We called Bank Of America again to ask where is our check? Their answer; "We mailed out your check October 28 because we had NOT received the documents we requested." What? Are you kidding me? It seems to me the bank is taking their sweet time with our check ONLY to make interest. I'm sure $20,000.00 is a drop in the bucket to the Bank, but if you multiply this figure by thousands if not 10s of thousands of customers under the same situation, the Bank certainly has a great racket going on by all the interest it makes by holding on to their customer's money for as long as they can. Our poor contractor finished his job several weeks ago, why should he have to wait for his money simply because of a greedy bank? The government or bank regulators need to do something to STOP banks from holding on to money that doesn't belong to them.

Bank Of America in San Antonio, Texas - Horrible customer service! Run and run very fast from them

I have a credit card with BOA. Paid the balance off in full and the next statement they charged me interest for the previous month. I PAID THE BALANCE IN FULL way before the due date. Never use a credit card from them again. Called customer service told one time that I should not be charged interest then told I should be charged interest as it was for the previous month. After being on hold for over an hour and passed to three people and all three giving different answers I hang the phone up and call back and this time get someone that actually waived the interest charge. Wow fraud at its best. If I had not been so demanding and called back they would have got the interest from me that I did not owe. I just wanted to pay it and be done with them. I wonder how many people go through what I did and how many actually pay the interest. It was only 26.00 bucks but it is the principal and they are thieves and not a reputable bank. No wonder they have gotten in so much trouble over their business practices.
